Racing Maxima at 11:00pm Help fast

Hey guys im racing a Nissan maxima today at 11:00pm any hints and tips would be great. Thanks

By the way my is a 94 V6 auto his is a 96 manual Maxima
So Far I took everything i dont need out and lowered the rear tires at 25pounds

there's no way you can beat that maxima, unless that max is a really bad driver. Max's get 15.3 in 1/4 mile, ur camaro is an auto and 94, probably gets like low 16s at best

no amount of gutting is going to help you. Max weighs 200 pounds less, has more horsepower, same amount of torque, higher revver, not to mention is a stick-shift while you are an auto.

you should beet the jap crap to be on the safe side
put some rice on the ground and it will try to eat it a sure win

What year maxima are we talking man? If its an older one,(like anything before 94-95) Id say you had a chance, but if its a newer one deflate your tires the rest of the way and say they went flat..

Well i have been doing a little research and this is what I have found: Maxima: 3100 pounds, 0-60 in 6.7, 190 horsepower and 205 pounds of torque. Your car: 3.4 litre v6: 3350 pounds, 160 horsepower, and 200 pounds of torque. 0-60 in 9.8 seconds and a 1/4 time of 16.9 seconds for a 4 speed. All this basically means is what we said earlier.. gonna be a tough race for you, You have less horsepower and less torque in a heavier car... only way I can see you winning is he completely messes up shifting and like stalls in 1st gear or something, even then i can almost see him catching you..

are you sure those stats are correct?? 3.4's get 9.8 seconds 0-60??? That seems very very slow, even for an auto.

bboyz if you raced a 240 turbo, which gets at least 14.5 secs 1/4 mile totally stock, there's no way you could have beat that

From the articles I read (as i do not have a 3.4 liter) It is true. I posted the articles where I got the information, and I realize that the information may be biased, but if it IS off, I dont think it would be too far off. Maybe one of the camaro guys with a 3.4 liter should post on here for a little clarification. So I dont know PERSONALLY wether it is true or not, just going by the info I got off the sites.

I didnt say I beat it i meant otherwise. I knew i had no chance against the 240 but my friend still wanned to race me so i did. He beat me badly (thats what I meant)

Hmm I think it may be really biased, the auto civic DX's run 9 seconds flat in 0-60. I know camaros are faster than Civic DXs

Do you know what Stick-shift 3.4's get?? I may race my friend's 95 3.4 l Camaro. I got an auto 240sx, should make for a good even race.

the proves nothing.. it doesnt have a "stock" section.. all it has is "naturally aspirated" section, and on down the page it says
"naturally aspirated" (stock internals) so im guessing all that has to be stock is the internal components to be called "naturally aspirated" and no turbo/nos/supercharger.. there is no way to tell what the people have and havent added besides those items.

I have a stock 95 Civic DX i can go low 8's hi 7's as I'm in the peak of my engine... 60k miles...

^ i really doubt that... I had a stock Civic DX like you, and my 240 gets low 8s, and my 240 blows the hell out of my civic's speed. And Civic DX's, especially auto, will not pull in hi 7s

yea 0-60, I still doubt civics can pull low 8s, my 240 pulls low 8s in 0-60 and it's a hell of a lot faster than my Civic DX>

I have a 96 Maxima 5 speed. I have raced a 3.8 v6 99 camaro with it and won. I even beat a blazer with a hopped up V8.
