I just had a crazy idea looking at a show, A RICED UP GO KART! With all custom body, and engine, and exhaust! Please post your comments on this. I love this idea. I will post some pics of the drawing.

Haven't seen a go cart yet. Do one of the old school 50's type with stickers and exhaust on it. Does any company make 1:24 scale lawnmower engines? ahhahha

dont think so. I might use an ITG engine and customize alot of it!

lol..why not use some ITR or Civic engines? (No..seriously..) Or, if you want, i know Ertl makes die cast riding lawn mowers, which have engines, but i dunno how detailed they are. Sounds like an interesting project, go for it.

Where could I find 1/24 go-cart wheels or find something similar? Or what could I use to make the wheels?

I actually like the idea, sorta like the Forumula Hyabusa (or whatever it's called). The mini- indycar powered by a Suzuki Hayabusa engine.

For the go-cart, I'd used an engine from a Tamiya NSX. Just my opinion.

For a while, there was a company (I think it was the same one that made techdeck and the like, or at least it seemed similar in design) that made metal and plastic go karts, they were probaly 1:12 or so. I remember seeing them at Wal-Mart. Try ebay.

Edit: Something like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1042&item=4208460381&rd=1).

Why not? Go for it man! Screw fighting who's idea it is - rather exchange knowledge and suggestions. You'll get a great scale model!

DJSurfer, you asked for opinions. You asked for people's thoughts on your idea.

Invariably, there will be people who dislike your idea and will say so.

Disallowing these people from making these comments will accomplish nothing except making you look insecure. In short, you should just deal with it.

And to follow on from LK’s post, the replies by sk8ter_in_ny and Naseer23 are not exactly helpful. If you don't like something then state you reasons why, criticism is only valid if it is constructive. The posts in this thread by the above members are purely tolling and postwhoring. Both of which are against AF guidelines. Clean you act up gentlemen.

I remember seeing them at Wal-Mart. Try ebay.:1: I remember seeing them at SAV*ON or something. They were interchangeable like the TechDeck skateboards. And, I'd swear they were 1/24 scale. I picked one up in the store and thought, "Hmmm... Car scale." Then put it back down and wandered away for toilet paper or ice cream or whatever I was shoping for that day...

I think this is them:

I know that some lunatic in the UK built a Fireblade powered kart 6 or 7 years ago. Couldn't find any pics though.

Pick up a 1/24 bike and go for it I say.
