why does almost any part I'm interested in say either 93-95 SOHC or 94-97 DOHC, What about my poor neglected 97 SOHC. I figured that o well how much could have changed about the intake from a 95 to a 97 but after reading the "how to make your own intake" colom on teamdelsol.com, he mentions something about the 1996+ models having an extra air temp sensor. Am I just overthinking things? or did AEM just decide not to bother with a CAI for a 97 SOHC del sol?

Go by the engine codes, not the years... 97 SOHC models are the D16z6 and D16y8 I believe... I may be wrong, I'm notorious for crossing engine codes around. Then, contact AEM/whatever company you're interested in and ask about the intake for that specific engine. I like AEM because generally, their support people are very helpful, unlike some other places where they're just like "umm... did you want to return it or something?"

most places wont bother making an application for a single year..your going to run into this having a 97, things as simple to a front end and so forth.
one good thing you have going for you tho is that your weatherstrip prolly doesnt leak due to the recall !

haah well at least some good news, i just recently bought an injen ntake for 93-95 (the mechanic assured me it would fit) but when i got it all in there i noticed one thing, the bracket the connects it in the engine is about 1 inch away from the bolt it hooks on.. very disapointing.
