1995 contour overheating

I need help. Ive replaced the head gasket, thermostat, radiator and still have cooling problems. My fans work as far as I can tell. sensor seems ok as im not getting any codes. I even tried without the thermo and it still heats up. Anyone had problems like this before please let me know so i can rule out other possibilites

If you havent replaced the camshaft driven waterpump already, thats probably why. The stock waterpump comes with a plastic impellar that after high miles, it shatters. If thats the case, upgrade to the metal empellar unit. Its about $75 or so from an auto parts store. Most plastic empellar waterpumps on the contour/mystique usually shatter around 70K. Mine went at 72K.

I have had the same problem. Replaced the thermostat, gaskets, water pump WHATS NEXT!!!!

anyone having overheating problems with a 4cylinder w/high miles ought to have their converter checked out for partial clogging,,, i had the same problem with my 95 until I replaced the converter,, as most people know,, they tend to clog after a 100,000 or so miles and cause the exhaust gases to back up into the engine ,which of course can cause engine overheating, or catastrophic engine failure. Go to your nearest exhaust place like Midas or someone and have them do a temperature reading on it to determine whether its good or not,, some get so hot, they tend to even cause fire in some unsolucky cars..

i had the samething but mine was ez i just had a clogged line the one leading to the engien bottom of the storage tank. it was not complety closed but it would let very little coolent throw. check ur lines.
