Help-key Won't Work In Door

I recently locked my keys in my car and the guy that got it open pryed the window back and hit the unlock button on the door console. For some reason, now my key will not lock or unlock the door. I can still open it electronically with my KeyFOB, but not with the actual key. The key just turns, but does nothing...like it's not even interacting with the locking mechanism.

I called the guy and he said there was no way what he did would cause a problem like that, but I find it ironic that the problem started right after he got my car unlocked.

Anyone know the causes of this and/or solution? I really want to be able to unlock my car with my key.
