clock light stays on with ignition key off

This started after battery was jump started. Now have a new battery. Clock light stays on all the time. Am concerned the jump start caused a computer chip failure and the chip is telling the light that the ignition switch is on all the time. Can anyone think of a way to disable this signal? Replace computer chip (which one)? Remove radio and put a switch on the controlling wire (which one)? Does anyone know how to remove the clock/radio assembly so I can look at the wires coming into it? Thanks!

disconnect, and reconnect the battery
