Painting & Polishing

I tried to polish my model with help of PMans How-to tutorial. The result is almost perfect. Only one problem, the paint on panel lines is too thin, while polishing the paint wipes out leaving an awful white stripe. The same thing with tight edges. Should I just not polish near the panel lines and tight edges or what?

How do I paint the model so that the paint is thick enough everywhere? How many layers is enough? I tried with 4 and that seems not to be enough... :disappoin

Before painting, try sanding down the edges slightly. Paint tends to run away from sharp edges.

try not to polish edges cause is better an edge with bad shine that an edge with no paint at all!! but.. you can also place tape at the edges, I've never tried this, but I've heard that is good cause this is what I've said you before but this way you dont have to go with much care about edges cause tape prevents you from stripe the paint.
