Brake Noise

Hello! I have found the forum very informative for some problems with my 99 Silverado. This is my first post so stick with me. I replaced the front rotors, got the rears turned, and put new NAPA semi metallic pads front and back. Everything was fine for about a week then they started squealing after about 2 miles when the brake is applied at varied amounts of pressure. This has me stumped, I have double checked my work and it all looks fine. Any help is appreciated.

you could a set of gm pads, or try putting some Brake Quiet on the caliper side of the pads sometimes it works.

I've got the same problem. I replaced all 4 rotors and pads with semi-metalic. I order ceramic pads for the back but when I picked them up they said they didn't make them. So I took what they had. I should have went somewhere else and got ceramic. My back brakes are squealing real bad. I heard you don,t get that with ceramic?

Mine did this, and I had to remove the pads, roughen up the surface that contacts the rotor, sprayed a libral coat of brake quiet on them, cleaned the rotor w/brake cleaner, and re-installed it all. No more noise.
