Cracked Cylinder Head

Ive got a 1987 Toyota Pickup 2L Petrol. I replaced the sparkplugs and after i started it up again lots an excess of water vapour was coming out of the exhaust, after it was heated up. I have always suspected the head might have been cracked so i did a few checks. I started it when it was coldish and took of the radiator cap and the water was bubbling hard. I also hear loud knocking inside the engine. I think when i put in one of the sparkplugs i opened up the crack in the head a bit more and made it worse, but i made sure i didnt overtighten the sparkplugs.

I am buying a new cylinder head and was wondering if i should replace anything else, or check some other things out just to be totally sure that it is the cylinder head and not other things too. Thanks a lot for your help.

Gaskets. You should buy all the replacement gaskets for everything you take off of th engine. Without new gaskets, you'll be almost as bad off as you were before you replaced anything. Also, it would be wise to have a tube of RTV silicone sealant handy as well. It really sucks that your head cracked, but I hope you get it fixed without problems. Best of luck to you.

thanks for the help. i took the engine apart and it was only a cracked gasket. so i got a new one and new gaskets for everything else now she runs beautifully. cheers.
