Asking her to prom...

Need some good ideas.

Heres the deal. Im going out with her for the first time tommorrow night, dinner and a movie is what i got so far. Ive known her for a while, but never had the nerve to ask her out til now. I want to do something romantic/creative, but not too over the top ya know?

Just wondering if you guys had any good ideas.

PS: Prom is in 2 weeks BTW

Call the restaurant ahead of time and have them sing Happy Birthday to her (even though it's not, I'm assuming), with the cake and everything. She'll definitely remember the date for sure and tell all her friends. She'll also think you're quirky and unpredictable- girls love that.

More likely she'll just be embarressed.

Go to the movies, go to theme park, take her out to a dinner Or take her to a game like hockey, basketball etc. Plus girls like guys that listen to them. But I have never dated before and I'm 16. It's sad but, time will come.

Just ask her. If your going for a little bit more romantic, ask her over dinner while your holding hands or something. I just asked my date over the phone.

By the way, what do you have planned for after prom? If nothing yet, you and your friends better start thinking about going/doing something. While I had drama to deal with my date, prom was still a great and memorable time for sure. So make the most of it.

If you want to get her roses, look into different colors, fuck the meanings, red roses are so boring and done.

It depends on the animal... A bear is too common. I just got myself a hotpink monkey that vibrates when you sqeeze his hand. (I dont recommend, the monkey may become her new best friend)... If you want to get her a stuffed animal make sure it is really different and personal, something you KNOW she'll like. Otherwise, it looks like you are clueless and just got it because you couldn't think of anything else.

well said... just dont be overly nice to her on the first date, dont buy her anything expensive at all or she will just think that you want to be her friend, and i dont think thats what u want right? just be you, but make her laugh and be somewhat of an ass to her, be a man not her friend, and do not try to get any on the first date, that will ruin everything. save that till prom maybye even go on one more date before prom if things work out. and then when prom nite rolls around have a good time, dance whatever but still be the man, NOT her friend

Here's how I feel about this. It may be true that girls prefer to be treated poorly but I simply refuse to be that way. It is not who I am. I cannot go out with someone & be an ass. I would feel horrible about treating a girl who will actually spend time with me that way. I couldn't enjoy the date or to a greater extent a relationship with her.

More and likely I'll end up dying alone because of my stubornness but so be it. I've somewhat accepted my faint. :sunglasse

Meaning... be an ass, but in a funny way. Make light jokes at her expense, and don't be afraid to speak your mind. The best girls to date take this all in stride and like a guy who isn't afraid to do these things.

Girls love jerks, not assholes, there'a diff. I know this I have too many girls, yes it is possible. I'm not a jerk persay but I'm a class clown. I have a lo tof jokes and i merss with people. Sens eof humor is any guy's best asset and if they don't have it then you better have something that can get you to the 3rd date if you know what i mean.

A dozen is terrible, you'll have to do better the next time. I know, that's why I enbd up oinly on a coupole of date swith chicks, I'm a rich kid, but I can spend only os much. A single rose is nice, but go for orange or yellow, it is spring.

Well, good luck, and how did you know for sure she was single? Almost all the girls at my school were spoken for weeks (4+) in advance.

Well fellas, I appreciate all your input. You all gave me much better ideas than i had come up with. If your wondering, the night went off without a hitch, and could not have gona any better!

Here's how it went down:

She came over at about 6:30, and we left and went to dinner. We really hit it off, and we talked for about an hour after we finished eating.

After we left the restaurant, I took her to the movies, where we saw Secret Window, because she hadnt seen it and really likes Johnny Depp. Even though I had seen it before, I really didn't care. I would have sat through 13 Going On 30, as long as it was with her.

After the movie, I was kind of stumped for what to do. I thought it was going to be later than it was. She suggested we go back to my place and watch another movie. So we went to my house, and I through in Signs, which she hadnt seen either. I had my arm around her for the whole movie, which was pretty cool, becuase I didn't expect it.

After the movie was over, we just kind of sat for a minute, and then I leaned in and kissed her. The next hour or so was...ahem...well...interactive.

WhatI forgot to mention earlier, was that before she came over I hand-calligraphed a note that said "Will you go to prom with me?", and put it on a yellow rose I had just bought, and hid it on the floor behind the passenger seat in my car.

When she was walking to her car to leave, and told her I wanted to show her something in my car. And pulled out the rose. I showed it to her, she read it, and nodded, then kissed me again.

Needless to say, it was a pretty good night. Probably the best date I have had in a long time. So, I just wanted to let you guys know how it went. Im in the process right now of hooking up with a group; limo, dinner, etc, to go with. So, thats where im at.

And Porsche, I wasn't sure if she had a date or not. I was pretty sure she didnt, because I had asked her out last week, and one of her friends asked me if I was going to ask her to prom, and I said yes, and she was all excited for her ya know? So I figured she didnt.

I just read this, so it was to late for my idea, but I was going to suggest something other than dinner and a movie. that is so overdone. my fiance, stated to me that she accepted my date offer the first time (I know she has rejected many people) because after the introductions, I asked her if she would like to go to the batting cages. This worked well, because I knew she was also a huge baseball fan. She liked it because I "dared to be different". We had a blast that night, and its been great ever since.

I know its kind of overdone. But I really didnt know her well enough to have any better ideas.
