I've been a customer of HLJ for quite a while and i had very good experience with them until recently and had quite a few problems in the last few orders.
At one point, it almost made me not wanting to deal with them again but maybe because i like their website design so i still went back and order stuff from them. I've made my latest order about two weeks ago. I've ordered a Fujimi NSX safety car, a few set of wheels, some masking tape, wax...etc. I placed the order on Friday and from my experience normally if everything goes smooth and in stock they will ship it in 10 days or so and i will receive it in another 2-3 weeks. But surprisingly, when i login their website and check my order on the following monday, my order status was "Already shipped on Sat" A big surprise!!! and i just received my order today (friday here)!!! so it's 2 weeks time from order to arrive my home here in New Zealand using SAL. I've to say i'm very happy to see they have improved and shorten the order process time a lot!!! If they can keep it up i'm sure i'll be a happy customer and keep coming back to them in the future.
Well done!!

Never had any problems with HLJ. The only time i've experienced a lengthy delay in processing my order was when they first started doing Paypal. I started paying by PP with them again recently and the process is much better. As for shipping time, no probs there either, usually turns up very quickly to a point where I can roughly guess what day it will show up on my doorstep.
On the other hand, orders i've placed with HS have gotten worse since I first started buying from them To begin with it was quicker than HLJ, now its taking nearly 2weeks to get it shipped.

Chris: maybe you are lucky or maybe i'm unlucky (probably the later?) as i normally have to wait 10 days before they ship my order and i always pay using the same credit card. Not really concern about their shipping time tho as it's not something they can control.. but anyway, if HLJ can keep it up i'm sure i'll be their loyal customer once again.

Processing international CC payments has always been my theory behind lengthy order processing. I've not used my CC with HLJ for the last few transactions now so the promptness is probably due to the payment instantly reaching their account via Paypal. With CC payments sometimes the money has not come off my card until after i've had the package.

Recently my HLJ shipment arrived in a very badly damaged box. Of four wheel sets and one kit in the package, only one wheel set box wasn't damaged. The wheel sets themselves were fine, and since they were the new 19's that are already gone, I'm happy to have them at all, even w/mangled boxes.

My Hasegawa Miura was a mess. The bottom of the shipping box looks like a forklift tine ran into it. It punctured the carton, and even the kit box. The post office did a tape job on the whole box, when it was handed to me it looked fine...on top. The kit box was mangled, amazingly the body was in the end that wasn't damaged, and the clear parts/chrome parts were on top, and the hit came from the bottom-the trees were damaged but no parts were. Each of the other trees was also misshapen and broken, subsequently a few parts from each tree had some damage and had also fallen off. The instruction manual was mangled, the decal sheet was creased. I photographed the damage, sent the evidence to HLJ, and I just received a fresh kit to replace the one that was brutally mangled in SAL shipping. :sunglasse
Say what you will about HLJ, I consider this excellent customer service. I hope those w/o digital cameras can get the same consideration.
I think repairing the parts that are damaged won't be a huge hassle, it may be fairly easy-but suspension/chassis parts might be tweaked and fiddly when repaired. So now I've got two Miuras, one will be an early non-SV that I'll combine w/my Imai body (marked as an SV but it's a narrow body) and try to utilize the Esci eyebrows.
Sometimes life hands you lemons. Sometimes the lemonade is quite refreshing!
