My last junk car was a ford festiva, ran great for a year, it's starting to act up now.

I don't want to put $$ in it, it only cost me $400 and I can get $100 for it from a kid who wants parts:). I just need another cheap car, this willl be my last one before my dream car..../drool

Anyway, there you have it! And ideas?

maybe you can keep the hundred, wait till you get your dream car, and put that money in to it.

Eh... I suggest looking for another hatchback 4-banger. Metros seem to be a favorite as far as American hatchbacks go, and many can be found for under $1k easily. Keep an eye on auctions in your area, I find a Metro at almost every one I go to, and they go CHEAP! A 94 went for $150 in great condition at the last auction I went to.

I would also look for a late-80's early-90's Civic hatchback. They also seem to be a favorite among those wanting good gas mileage out of their cars.

Metros may be dirt cheap, but they aren't very safe. I recently rearended a lexus (the idiot turned out right in front of me and stopped) while I was driving my '87 bmw. The damage was mostly to my transmission and the body damage was minimal. I haven't checked the frame reference point measurements yet, but my mechanic said if it'd been a geo or a kia it would've been totaled.
