Man, I just brought my 1993 SL, and I just got it checked out. The Dealership did a compression check and realized that the car has bent valves. They want to do the whole service and change the entire head for $3500. I can't afford this at all. I'm screwed so badly. I have about $600 saved up and I love this car so much. I felt like this is the only place I can come for advice because every other forum, they don't help, they call my car a tank, and to take that shit somewhere else. I need advice. I can save up $1650 and get a new engine shipped to my house. Has anyone done just a motor swap? Is it that difficult? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks and bye.

Unless their has been piston damage from hitting the valves I'd think the heads could be rebuilt.

a local machine shop might be able to do that for you.(do not quote me on this)

Damn bro, sorry about that. That sucks.... How much did it cost to get your car checked at the dealership? And how do the valves get bent like that (or whatever that is)?

next time have a compression check and complete check-up done before you buy the car, and see if the seller will drop his price due to complications found such as this one. i did one on my vr-4, found fucked engine mount, no clutch(didnt need them to tell me that one), exhaust leak(no biggie), and some slight interior electrical problems, and a fucked sunroof, guy came down on his price considerably. But if the bent valves havent cause any major damage, the heads should be easily rebuildable for a fraction of the price of new ones. Good luck, and get it serviced somewhere else besides a mitsu-dealer since your sparse for cash

Well actually I picked it up today, and it actually costs $280 FUCKING DOLLARS TO GET YOUR A GODAMN COMPRESSION CHECK. I was supposed to use that money to go on a trip w/ my brothers to Mexico. Now I'm down about to about $320, and I need to make some fast cash. The guy sold it to me like that. Fuckin guy at the Mitsubishi dealership actually put all the pulleys on then did the compression check, just to be an asshole and put in extra hours. I was expecting to get all my pulleys put back on and have the motor running, but the previous owner forgot to tell me that he bent the valves by trying to do the 120000 mile tune-up by himself. I'll take all of your guy's advice you have to give out. This is sad that we actually have 3000GT owners out there that actually lie to get rid of their car. What little bitches. They can't just rip me off like that! Both Mitsubishi and this little bitch owner. Fuck them and 3000GT's should not be owned by assholes. Peace
