I know the world is not out to get me or anything like that, but sometimes... I just can't stand it. I grew up poor so I'm used to working for what I want... but I just hate my age... 18 fuckin years old. I'm considered a legal adult and yet nobody will grant me a loan and my fucking sister fucked over my grandmother when she cosigned on her loan... so she won't help me out. And I understand. I really do. I wouldn't trust me after the shit my sister did to her anyway.

So now, for the past 2-3 years, I've given up the purchase of 4 vehicles that I was dying to get, and was promised cosigners on, including this one. 1 RX-7, 2 240SXs, and this Mustang Cobra... I just can't stand this shit. I can't finance, so how am I supposed to become a "responsible adult" when being one requires a car that I can't get ahold of. I live in bum-fuck-land and it's nearly impossible for me to get to work every week... I hate this shit.

Get a credit card, this will get you a line of credit, which will make you more eledgeable for a loan.

I used to feel your pain....being 18 sucked for a while

*course, then I did get a creditcard and by 20 credit was good, and life was better*

Like the previous guys said bulding up credit on smaller items first can stand you in good stead for the future, could be a good place to start.

I'm not 18 yet but I understand how you feel. Wirking is hard, and does suck if no one doesn't get a loan. I think the best way is to also look at jobs that have a a high salary.

Why rush into the realm of being a responsible adult? It's not nearly as fun as everyone seems to believe. Enjoy being 18 and debt free as long as humanly possible. By the time you're done having fun, you'll be old enough for that loan. Then settle into a life of bullshit like everyone else

When the hell are you joining the Marines? They'll keep you so busy you wont have time to spend.

Lets call it forced savings.

Or you could not go for such an expensive car? Being a responsible adult does not mean being responsible for 250 HP.

Yep. That's really all it will take. And if at all possible, and I can't stress this enough pay it off each month. If you can DO NOT make payments. If you talk to almost any financial advisors they say this is why sooooo many poeple get themselves in debt. They keep pushing the payments back farther and farther b/c they owe more and more.

I started using credit cards to buy stuff when I was 18 and as Texas Said Paid them off each month and When I was 21 had no problem buying my truck and Quad, I have Chase and Capital One, and Shell card for gas I think they are great cards, they have low rates and offer special points towards flights, Free gas etc.. they start you off with a low spending limit then increase it as you make your payments on time and you start to build credit. When I was 18 I tried to buy a Motorcycle and was denied by every dealer so I decided to Start building credit. Just be careful with your payments and spending.

Yup. Just buy an old junker.

Remember: lots of horsepower does not = huge penis.

Ther's a guy near me who rides a matte gray moped to work every day in full leather biker gear. Be like him, it's much cheaper and far more disturbing. What's an RX-7 or a Cobra got on a moped, anyway. Sure they're faster...but you'll have styyyyle!

yeah, enjoy 18 and debt free while you can. being an adult isn't what its cracked up to be. i'd give anything to be a kid again. well then again i don't know. i kinda like being responsible for my life as it is.

FYI, i was told by a loan office here in my state (indiana) that you shouldn't charge more than $150 on your credit cards at one time. it will hurt your credit score. now i'm not sure this is true but i don't know why he would tell me otherwise.

give in a buy a cheap $200-$300 car and drive the shit out of it while saving for the car you would really like to have.

good luck......... anything is possible.!

2 Words... Public Transportation!

There's always carpool and hitch hiking... How about a bicycle, scooter, moped or goped?

Wrong you have no credit. I strongly suggest getting one credit card with a small limit of around $500. Use it just for groceries or every once in a while. You need to establish credit for the future when you try and get a loan for a house, car, etc.

now.... after getting this loan for a car that you couldn't otherwise afford, how did you plan to pay for insurance?

Life sucks, then you get older and it sucks worse, then you have a family and it drives you insane. Then you either kill yourself or die of a stress related internal abnormality. :sly:
