Delco Cd Stereo Problems

Yesterday I put a homemade CD into my Delco Stereo/CD deck - it only played a couple of words from the CD and then went "dead".... the digital screen then showed a message of "ERR". I checked out the owners manual and nothing it shows will clear this message or let me play store-bought CD's. Any help is much appreciated.

Take out the fuse under the hood and in the cab that should fix it when this happen to mine about 2weeks later it quit then all it would say is err on the screen i took it to the Dealer they said the lens was bad it would take 394 to replace the cd player
