96 blazer - ticking noise from eng. compartment

I have a 96 blazer with 91M miles. There is a ticking noise from the engine compartment near the alternator. I'm hoping its just the Belt tensioner pulley bearing going bad, but could anyone let me know if they've heard similar noises and if so what caused it? Thanks.
