Quick question...

I searched for the answer to this question but didn't really find it. I have a 90 GSX (2.0L DOHC). My sister wuz driving it in january and it hadnt been driven in like a month cuz my brother (who's car it was) was dying of cancer. SO, she drove it and concurrently blew the upper radiator hose off the radiator then procedded to drive it till it died. When we got it back, the engine was coverd in oil. We came to find out the the oil return pipe gasket from the turbo had blown. So, we tried to get it started after fixing it, and we had lost all compression in all cylinders. We took the cam cover off and we found coolant inside there and there was coolant in the oil. We think it is the head gasket. Any help there? Also, the guy that owned it before us had done something to the turbo. He "ported" it and he had pics of clipping the exhaust turbine. What do those do for the turbo? Also, when we took the exhaust manifold off, i looked inside the turbo exhaust, and it had cracks inside, but not outside...is that good?? Thanx!

All 1g manifolds will crack.

Porting is good.

More than likely you have a full rebuild coming up. Our cars do not like to be driven sans oil and coolant.

but what does porting do for the turbo or the car?? And I have already taken most of the engine apart today...not fun at all..

porting allows more flow. depending on what you port (you can port tons of things) THAT item will flow better.
