I am removing the transmission on a 88 civic I have both axles out and all linkage and lines off and it appears all of the bolts out of the bell housing but still will not come out is there any bolts that are hard to see ???? Or anything I may have forgot to take off???

There is a little thin metal cover on the bottom side of the transmission on the engine side that has 4-6 small bolts in it - I usually remove that - also, take a screw driver and slightly pry the trasmission apart from the engine - can you tell where it's caught at?

I hope you're not just thinking its gonna drop straight down...its gotta slide out on the input shaft for a bit...

Yeah it has to rock and slide one way or the other, and then with a little work, itll drop, if its still stickin together, put a sturdy screwdriver up in there and pry the housing apart, and keep them fingers clear. Last thing you want is to get your fingers caught up in there while the 80 pound tranny shifts...
