once upon a time there was a decent running car that just all the sudden started running like crap. timing is good, car gets fuel but no spark. Ichanged the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor and no results. I also noticed that the tach was kinda bouncing around when the car did run (only on 2-3 cylinders) and i was told that a bad igniter would cause this problem so i changed the coil and igniter. this actually cleared everything up. i test drove the car for like 15-20 mins and everything was good. but then i felt the car miss and it was all down hill from there. tach started bouncing around again and car started running like crap and at idle it died twice. the times it cut out, i was able to start it right back up again. i got it home let the car sit for a bit and started it back up, all of the cylinders were back and i was getting spark again but that all crapped out after a while. so now i'm thinking
A: something is heating up and going bad
B: Something is overloading the igniter and causing it to go bad prematuraly. maybe a combination of both.
my afc is using the settings advised to use on turbod16.com.
any thoughts?

It sounds like the car has an ailing crank position sensor. Check this possibility out and post your findings.

didn't think of that. so the cps can can get heated up more than normal and cause the car to run bad? i'll look into it tonight. and if it is the cps, that would result in me having to buy a new dizzy huh.

looks like you were right. i replaced the dizzy(only way to get a new Crank position sensor) and the car works fine now.
