350z vs. 96' Z28

in my Z i have an INJEN intake for know so who do u think would win from a stop and also from a roll 350 or Z28

shit, i can take a z28. well maybe not, but no prob in the z. you got a little less tq but also about 200 lbs less body weight. i think you'll fare pretty well against the other Z.

It will mostly depend on the driver - whoever has a better launch and does skillful shifting.

You would win against a pre-93 z28, the ones after 92 make 275 hp, up to 325 in thier last year 02. Stock in 93 I think they ran about 13.9, and 13.7 was not uncommon. You might win, but you will have to a good driver, and the other guy would have to not have a idea of how to drive, and it be a 6 spd.

z28s suck, they're very popular with the kids around my city and i never lose to them. however, and SS CAMARO will beat you so WATCH OUT!

You should be able to beat the z28 but it will be close.It's an lt1 not an ls1 so you should be alright.If it was a ls1 you would loose pretty bad from a stop and a roll but it's not.

funny how u guys say that if it was an SS you better watch out! there is no stinkin difference! maybe a tenth in the qtr. and the ss for lt1 years only came out in 96 and 97. and the lt1 will stay side by side with the ls1 up to about 80 then the ls1 will walk away quite easily!

this goes out to the guy with the maxima that responded earlier that his car can almost take a z28 out! u car stands no chance in hell. i have played with them so many times on the highway( and that is not my cars sweet spot at all) and i pull away so freakin easy it aint even funny. the only mod i had was a cai! and do the new maximas top out at 120? cuz when were at them speeds and punch it seemed he didnt have much grunt at all.

An SS has a 6 spd and ram air good for an extra 30 hp over the Z28. Compared to a 350z it just depends on how strong the Z28 is. It could be old and abused but if it is in top shape then it is really too close. The Z28 may have a slight adavantage.

i honestly cant wait till i get to run one of these 350z's! i couldnt believe when i seen so many posts about how they can easily take a gt and they possibly beat lt1's that are running in good order! but almost all the 350z sites that i have been to and many other kill story forums have said about the same thing. i know that ur HP is 287 but what are ur TQ numbers? u are probably pushing 240 to the wheels? that is the samething that an lt1 is pushing, but i believe we have alot more TQ!

BUT WHEN I RACE THIS OTHER Z28 WITH MY 300ZXTT(STOCK FOR STOCK) THE CAMARO WAS NO MACH. THE GUY GOT FRUSTRATED AND TOOK HIS Z28 AND SPEND ABOUT $4000 IN UPGRADES (HE SAID HE DONE THE PULLEYS, CHIP, FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM, CAM) . THEN CAME TO ME AND ASKED ME FOR A REMATCH SO I DID. MY Z32TT THEN HAD AN AIR INTAKE AND A RACING PULLEY. THE Z28 TOOK ME ON 3RD GEAR ABOUT HALF A CAR. I WOULD SAY THATS REALL BAD COMPARING HE SPENT $4000 IN UPGRADES. IF I WOULD OF SPEND $600 ON MY ECU UPGRADE, THAT GUY WOULD OF FELT LIKE SHIT(PROBABLY SELL HIS CAR) CAUSE FOR SURE I WOULD OF WON THAT RACE.

I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING AGAINS THE CAMAROS OR MUSTANGS. THE OWNERS ARE THE ONES WHO PISS ME OF JUST CAUSE THEY HAVE A BIGGER ENGINE(MORE WEIGHT) THEY THINK THERE UNBEATABLE OR THE SHIT. EVEN THE Z06 SUCKS.

jccr y do u say the zo6 sucks? they run very very low 12's and some have even hit the 11 sec mark! and the handling is great!
but if this guy put 4grand into his z28 he did all the wrong things if he still got beat by you! that much money should have easily put him in the 11's. now if he really put that into it, then when u 2 raced he must have been spinning alot! like i said again i cant wait to run into one of u! hopefully i will have it on video. later

them are great stock numbers for any production vehicle. what would be the point of having it any more powerful, then there would be no aftermarket for it!

ok...lets say the camaro does beat a 350z in the 1/4 mile...good job.

but that is what the camaro is built for. the 350z is build for auto cross not straight lines which makes it kind of funny that a 350z, built for something totally different, can hang with a car that is built specifically for straight lines. that makes the camaro a joke and thats why i dont like the car. yeah it can be an impressive car, but any car with that big of a displacement can be an impressive car with the right things done to it.

also the camaro with 4 grand sunk in to is an equal match in the 1/4 mile to a 300zxTT with 4 grand sunk into it.

just because u have a newer model with more technology does not make the camaro a joke! like i said when i find one of u on the street i am gonna annihilate you, and remind that ur car is not as fast as u think it is.

camaro28, those would be great stock numbers if it was a v6 but its a v8 with a 5.7L engine come on how can those be great numbers.

this are some great stock numbers HONDA S2000 V4, 2.0L, 240HP AT 8300RPM AND 153LBS OF TORQUE AT 7500RPM.

300ZXTT 3.0L 300HP 287LBS OF TORQUE!

400 hp from a stock v6 i dont think has been done yet on a NA vehicle! lol who cares about if they are great or not stock numbers
and ur twin turbo 6 cylinder putting down around 300 is somehting to laugh at.

When the AF 350Z was stock I did 13.69 in 1/4 mile - should be competitive with a stock Z28.

i dont know of the stock TT is something to laugh at but that is pretty much detuned. u can push a your same 400 hp with a pop-charger, cat-back exhaust and ECU upgrade. and spend about 35,000 less than a corvette. and this is personal preference but i think the z32 looks a hell of alot better.

when i was reffering to the 300 tt 300zx, i dont knwo what it comes with i am goin gby what someone else said. but if it came form the factory wasnt it tuned right? i know with any car and aftermarket tuen will help bu tnot an xtra 400 hp.

i didnt say that the engine wasnt tuned properly i was saying that it is no where near its limits. nissan did a great job tuning it for where they want it but it is true that a few upgrades will easily get the TT to 400hp. JWT is claiming that there ECU alone adds about 60 rwhp. that tells u right there that nissan didnt tune the engine to anywhere near its cababilties. check this out.

YES THE Z32TT IS HEAVY( AROUND 3400LBS OR 3600LBS ) BUT PUSHES ITS WEIGHT DAMN GOOD. WITH A FEW UPGRADES, THE Z CAN BE A POWERFULL OPONENT!
