VIN Engine code identification

Greetings,
Does anyone know of a site that has the engine codes from the VIN?
Specifically 'eighties GM's, of course.

The patient is an '87 Caprice. It has the 307 (Olds) V-8. What is the vin code for this engine. This is a Canadian car, btw.
