My 323I started acting up today. It was first a short lag between turning key and the car starting. Then when you turned the key, the lights go on and off and the engine will not turn over. the battery's eye is green and the interior lights are burning bright. Any ideas on potential issues?

did you check the for any fault codes? thats a start. you will need a tool peake.com scan tool sells them if you don't have one. then again how old is your car batterys will last around 4 sometime more years until they start to go.

Just because your lights are bright doesn't mean your battery has enough charge to power the starter. dash lights and a starter are like the difference between a remote control and a color TV set. your lights don't go out until the battery is completely drained.
