Just wanted to let you guys know, that these streetbikes are the easiest things to steal. Only way to fully prevent you being screwed over is getting theft insurance and keeping it inside... Steering locks can be broke in 5 secs on any bike and or car

Steering locks dont need to be broke dude. Have you ever seen 2, maybe 3 big dudes before? Cuz they can pick a bike up and put it in the back of a truck in a second. Unfortunately ive seen it happen at WAL-MART for all places. But on a good note I notified security and the cops got them. But it was so quick I was very impressed. Full insurance is the ONLY way to protect yourself.

I've seen the exact same thing happen many times before and it's quite sad. :banghead: But, most of the time, the bike is worth more than the truck they're loading it into, so, you gotta go figure.

That sucks, but what about alarms? Or connecting a battery to the metal parts with the most contact?

best alarm for a car. central locking lock down. with a pressure pad under the drivers mat controlling metal thread woven into the seat hooked up to a ignition coil. ever grabbed an ignition lead while the motor going? and finally a 144db screamer siren in the headrests.

Alarms on bikes are just as "ineffective" as alarms on cars. I know I ignore car alarms all the time.

Heck, one night my steering head was locked and I couldn't find my keys, so about 6 of us picked the bike up and took it away in a truck. No one around said anything about it, but at least it was my bike.

Also.....this puts a damper in the fun, but ride an older bike than no one wants. A ratty late 70's to early '80's 4 cyl Japanese bike has bags of performance, reasonably good handling and is worth little. Keep the Ducati at home and ride around on a '79 KZ1000. Sure, its not so cool, but it will still be there at the end of the day.

What are you gonna chain the bike onto? Usually around my place there's just a parking lot with nothing to hook it up to... Even if you just lock the spokes up so they can't roll it, they can still just dump it in the back of a pick up and break the chain in their place or whatever.

where i go to college, there is a place to park it with poles that are 10 feet tall.

hey andrew. ive got last years version of that chain but its almost to heavy. i got the long version and it is so heavy that it unbalances the bike. it feels like riding two up. still have my bike though
