wiper problem: don't shut off

Sometimes when I go to turn off my wipers, they stay on. And sometimes when I put them in intermittent mode, they start off correctly (wiping intermittently) but then slip into a speed that is close to the low speed setting.
To get it to stop, I often have to let the wipers sit in low or high speed for a while, then move the switch to the off position.
Any ideas on what needs to be replaced? I appreciate your help. Thanks!

Sounds like you need to replace your wiper motor. My brother had the same problem with his truck. The motor could be shorting out. I don't think it is your wiper switch.

Yep... start with the switch. It seems clear that the motor is working very well ;)
