jetta bumper

I've had my '00 Jetta GLX two days, pulled up to work today, adjusted myself in the parking space and when I went to reverse my bumper was practically pried off!!!! I don't know how this happened and am alarmed at how much this may cost to repair. The front looks ok but the sides are visibly pulled away. Any suggestions?
