i heard that preludes weigh a lot, would it be better to buy a 90-93 accord or go with a prelude (for an h22). Also, people told me that this guy that lives in my town ran a 9.8 with his ford probe. what do you guys think

Preludes weigh around 3100 Lbs, its not A lot, but its a pretty heavy Honda. Go with the prelude, itll be faster and better looking than an accord, also better handling.

personally i like the newer models... my bud just got a 98 and it is one sweeeeet car... might like the 95/96's better tho.. but the later years you go.. the more money you're gunna spend.. which means less money for moodddzzz :p

93-96 Prelude VTEC 190hp 165lb/tq.
The Gen 5 preludes 97-01 look nicer IMO but tuners generally prefer the gen 4 preludes b/c they are a little lighter and look sportier.IMO

BTW, a probe running a 9.8. Is that an 1/8 or a 1/4? What are his mods?

yeah i would go for the gen 4 pre 97 I think those ones are the nicest and you can save money for mods from not buying the 97 kinda like what Delerious93integra said.

I had my Prelude weighed at a truck station. 2825lbs with me in it. I have a 4th gen without any weight reduction mods.

hey you said that with the prelude, i get 190 hp, my cousin has a 92 accord and says hes gettin 200 hp with an h22, oh and btw, the probe was runnin a quarter mile i guess, idno, however long normal drag tracks are. idno his mods either....

his is probably a jdm h22 then... the jdm engines usually have about 10 more hp than usdm engines, due to slightly higher compression and better tuning...

any 9 second car is going to have some serious modification done to it.. so most likely it's the 1/8th mile...

depends on year/generation

4th gens weighed 2800-2900 (depending on trim)

5th gens weighed 3000-3100 (depending on trim)
