Becuase of the rising cost of gas i have been forced to garage my 351 and buy something more economical i bought a 88 acura integra ls. As being new the world of imports i was wondering what besides the 1.6 in the car would be a simple swap, what other honda projects make good donor vechiles, and while reading other post what does the leter in the motor description mean. any help or in put would be apreciated

I can't give the best explanation but I'll try...

The first letter is the series, IE B series were in Integra's, umm D's in Civic's, F was in the CR-V, H's were in Preludes and the K's are in the last few Integra Type-R's and now the RSX's.

The Second letter simply states what type of engine, well to the best of my knowledge, the B18C1 or 5 were in the GSR and Type-R Integras, while the B18A's and B18B's were in the RS, LS, and GS Intergra's the B's were the newer 94+ integtra's.

I hope that helps some, I'm sure someone who knows what they're talking about can fill in the blanks.

But to answer your question about a Swap, (someone correct me if I'm wrong) a B18A/B, F20B, B18C1-5 (would need the ECU from the car too), and I think a H22A would fit... my integra is a 2nd gen those will fit mine, as for you're 1st gen I'm not 100% sure.

that's not always true. there are B's in civics, crv's, preludes, and F's in preludes, accords...etc

here is a link. http://www.hondaswap.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29825

you can easily put in a b-series engine. good choices would be a B16 or B18. B18's are very easy to find. they are found in 90-up integras. look for integra member sites and you can find a lot of good info from integra owners on the best swaps and how-to's.

this forum is also good, so stick around.

Thanks, like I said I was offering what I knew... :smokin:

Anyway if you want a B18A1 I have a B18A1 Block and bottem end for sale, I want the heads, cause I'm going to build them for my other B18A1.

http://www.hasport.com/Products/Mount%20Kits/Mount%20AVB1.htm , This is for a 86-89 Integra for a OBD-0 B-series motor swap., but personally, I would boost it. Hell If you really wanted to go extreme, you could B18A swap, with a custom turbo kit @ like 10psi. < Dyno tuned, and should make about 240 WHP (yes wheel horsepower) @ 2300 lbs. If you strip some, you cam get down to 2100 lbs. This is good for a high 12 pass on slicks. What I would do:

-B18A1 motor / tranny swap (great shape) $800
-hasport swap kit $500
-other knick picks $300
-custom exaust system 2 1/2" $300

-T25 Turbo (good condition)(Internal wastegate) 150
B18 turbo manifold 150
custom down pipe 50
Custom piping w/ boots & clamps 75
1G SMIC 25
Boost guage 30
DSM manuel Injectors 100
Apex S afc (older style) 75
Walbro fuel pump 100
Oil/collant works 75
Dyno tuning (on wide band) @ 8psi 200
Autometer Boost & AF guage 100

oh yea, and I almost forgot. When driven right, will get about 25mpg in city, and 30mpg on highway.
