Step 2

Step 3

I have not yet completed the rest but I will post it ASAP.
Also the quality isn't the greatest on any of these, my scanner doesn't pick up some of the thinner lines. I got the rims right!!!

castback: I guess I forgot that part lol.

Step 1: I basiclly just drew the outline/template. It was kinda scratchy at first but then I made crisp lines

Step 2: I just drew the wheels in (The hardest part I think).

Step 3:I drew in all the details such as lights, door lines, air vents etc.

correct: wheels either make or break any car design, imo. you can have a flawless body, but if the wheels are off or inappropriate for the body, it looks 'wrong.'

Step 4

looks good, but i think you need to work on the wheels a bit, especially the spokes, they look a bit 2d.

Sure is comin along though!

Looking good so far. Make sure to smooth out your shading so it doesn't look so rough.

Very sweet drawing.

I almost purchased a GTA version a few years back.

jeep, dude, fix the rear spokes like i said. they look smashed and squashed, not drawn in the proper perspective. you nailed the front wheel so why can't you see that the rear one is wrong? and seats are a bit cartoonish.

all else looks great.

Alfred A Nissan? Cramping your style? Nawwwww.....

I have a "fun" car for ya. I would really like to see this one!

A 1938 Buick Y-Job Concept

bonzelite The rear wheel doesn't look that bad. If you werent looking for any error or anything, i dont think anyone could or would tell.

97 3clipse Thats a bad attitude son! Lets see some of your work, then we will see...

and finally...

Jeep Rubicon Would it be cool with you if i moved this into the tutorial section when your all done?

i think it looks pretty good. darken the interior a bit, and if possible, try to lighten the outline of the seats, side mirror and windshield because the darker the outline is, the more cartoonish it looks.

bonzelite, do u mean the top 2nd hole? If thats not it please explain more, i dont understand what ur tryin to say.

grrrrrr.

do you see the front wheel and how the elipse of the inside, the plane of perspective that you've established for the spokes, matches in degree/angle the tire's and rim's angle of perspective? see that? it is great. you did it. nailed it. now do the same for the rear.

now look at the rear wheel. do you see how the elipse of the inside does not match the tire's angle/degree? the elipse that the spokes are radiating on is not on the same angle of perspective as the tire/rim elipses are. in other words, the elipses for the rear, those that estabish the tire and rim, is thinner, than the elipse you constructed for the spokes (which you have made squashed and more circular relative to the rim's elipse which is thinner -the 'mouth' of the rim/tire elipse is opened less than the spoke's elipse). the effect is the entire face of the spoke area looks mashed or collapsed, "looking at us" too directly relative to the wheel and rim as a whole.

i can say it another way if this doesn't help. i'm frustrated, not angry. the solution is simple, though. i am hanging on to this issue because the subtlety of the tires and rims, if even slightly off, can distract the eye, preventing a good drawing from being excellent. and it gives away techincal maturity and/or immaturity.

you're doing great, by the way.

Hey man, that's a sweet Trans Am. I've got one suggestion for you. Maybe try to blend the shades. It would look much cleaner IMO. What do you think?

bonzelite (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=55975): You must of been busy typing that explaination, I really appreciate it. I think I know what your talking about now. I hope i can fix it in the next step.

KustmAce (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=142325): Thas cool, but if your going to put it there let me make the step descriptions better, I kind of rushed on them and maybe after I do that I'll PM it to u if thats ok with you. Your doing a good job as a moderater. Keep it up!

HighOctaneNOSUser (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=97964): I was going to do that in the next step, I guess you beat me to it.

97_3clipse (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=168382): Post some of your work as KustmAce (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=142325) said, maybe we can help you out, we all have to start somewhere.
