93 Suburban Electrical Problem

I have a 93 Sub that my wife loves a whole bunch. She was in the yard cleaning it up when the radio and inside lights went out. It keeps blowing fuses every time I try to put one in. I have unplugged all the wires to the Radio, Amp, all lights and all door switches and it still keeps blowing fuses time you stick it in. Does anyone have any suggestions, My wife loves music as much as she does the Suburban.

Unplugging those devices and having fuses keep blowing means there is a short in your power leads to these devices somewhere. You need to inspect the power line from the fuse that blows all the way to where power is distrubuted (branches out) between these devices. Have you made any changes/additions to your electrical system (alarm, cd player, or the like?) that may have caused this problem?

Yep, I was gonna say the same. You'd be surprised how many people come back to my shop to tell me I messed up their ride then to find out there stuff like coins or gum wrappers in the cig. lighter shorting things out.

Hi,

I have a 93 burb that recently had the same problem. The vanity mirror in the sun visor has a light in it. My driver's side sun visor has gradually deteriorated over the years and I found that moving it in a certain way caused my light and radio fuse to blow. I should replace it but I've been too lazy. I just moved it to where it isn't shorted out and left it there.
