Trouble feuling Swift 2001 . . .

When I am feuling my three door Suzuki Swift, the gas handle always 'clicks' off as if the tank is full. I must therefore give the handle only half the pressure so that there is a continued gas fill-up.

I brought it to the dealership and what they told me was that there was a security 'ball' inside. This, incase of an accident in which the car would roll over, the ball would prevent the gas from comming out. This is why I couldn't gas up the car with full pressure from the gas handle.

Problem is that I borrowed the dealers' 2001 Swift while they were making a repair on mine and I put in 5,00$ of gas with full pressure, and without problem, so I am presuming that the excuse given to me was not adequate unless the dealer had the 'ball' taken out of their car ( which I doubt.

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be great, thanks.

I have a 2000 and I too have problems fueling. This can be a common problem with cars this small with only a 10 gallon tank. The filler hose to the tank is very short and narrow so it can't keep up with the speed of the gas tanks. As far as the "ball" goes I've never heard of that but it makes since. I've just learned to live with mine. Some tricks I've tried: Only insert nozzle half way, Set nozzle on one "click" under fully open, Try different gas stations. I've found that some pumps aren't as bad as others.
