Auto vs. Manual

I know that the 07-01 manual prelude is faster than the auto if you can shift good. I just bought a 97 auto prelude that I pick up this weekend. The auto is still a fast car compared to a lot of other cars right? like the regular accords and integras and civics... but how does it compare to the Accord V6, Integra GSX, and cars like this? Is it a real big difference in speed between the Auto and Manual? If so is it mostly low end or top end differences? In 4th gear on the auto does anyone know what the top speed would be right before redline? Also is there a governor or limiter on the top speed ?

I couldn't tell you how it compares to an Accord V6 or an Eclipse GSX, but I can tell you that you could go find a lonely stretch of freeway, and do the top speed run yourself. :smile:

HEy man,

of course there is a big difference between auto and manual...... first of all, manual's torque is much higher than an auto's... yet, you can have better control with little lag using a manual prelude....

try to get a friend and race between those 2 different settings' car... and you will see what i meant clearly...

i learnt that when i was downtown racing a 1jz( which in english means 90+ supra)... i was using auto then... we went battling and i lost to him like 1/2a car doing a quart-mile... now that i changed my tranny to manual... we went head to head... obviously, i won by 1 whole car...

class dismiss......
