First, Im new to posting, but I've always relied on this forum for help.
I've got a 97 GSX, with 104,000. Turbo timer, Upper Intercooler pipe, N1 downpipe and exhaust, and 2 gauges (boost and air/fuel).
MY question - Recently I went through my dads autobody junk yard and found a 93' turbo talon (awd or not I don't know yet).
Engine seems to be in fine condition, the body was badly beat and was unrepairable. When I got in the car, it said the car only had 43,000 miles on it. PERFECT. a Turbo 6-Bolt engine with 43,000 miles.
IS IT WORTH THE SWAP INTO MY CAR?
IF NOT AWD - IS IT WORTH ANYTHING IF I TOOK IT OUT AND SOLD IT?
also, WHAT KINDA OF PROCEDURES SHOULD I TAKE IN DOING SO?
Thanks to any1 who responds, I really need the professional help -

I dont see why you would waste your money on the swap, when there is noting wrong with your current engine. Unless there is something wrong with your current engine, then yea it is worth it.

Unless it's really cheap and you plan to use it later, spend that money on making your 7 bolt faster. There's no reason to replace a motor that runs fine and has few mods.

The engine alone wouldnt cost me anything. Even labor would be cheap for me -
My engine now has a tapping noise (I was told valve lifters). Thats all
What kind of prep work would I have to do for this engine to be taken out of the talon, and put into mine (do I need 2 buy parts)
ALSO - The talon engine is completely stock, not modified at all. - Would it be worth re-selling ?
and if so, how much would that go for?
Thanks again -

I hate to break it to ya but that motor is still a seven bolt. They switched to the seven bolt in 1G's mid way through 92. I would still however get it and keep it as a second motor or sell it to someone for some money. As far as how much it depends on the buyer. Perhaps 700 or so if the miles arnt that high and you know the condition of it.
