Does it run continuously, or shut off after 5-10 minutes?

if it runs continuously, that's bad, otherwise, it's normal.

Indeed, depending what will2 means by "cool," the fan can cycle on and off a number of times for several minutes until the temp is low enough for it not to run any more.

Thanks for responding to my problem...I just parked the car about 10 min. ago and when I went back out the fan was off,but I turned the key on and off and the fan cut back in again,I changed the relay fuse in her but that never worked.I was told it may be the temp. sensor?????

I don't think 10 minutes is all that long, IF the motor was pretty hot when you parked (and maybe I should ask what the temp gauge indicates?)
The behavior of that fan is, IMHO, rather idiosyncratic, but could the cut-in of the fan with your switching the ign on/off be coincidence?

the temp gauge was about half way up on the gauge. But I know that this was not happening before.... a couple of days ago.Its now been about 1/2 hr since I had the car started I'll try turning the key on/off again and see if it comes back on and check the gauge to see where the hand is....

I turned the key on/off again and the fan came on,the temp. gauge is reading cold.....
