I am getting a 2000 Celica GTS with a sport-shift automatic transmission...I don't know much about cars and have no idea what a sport-shift automatic transmission is. Does this mean that I can drive the car as an automatic or a manual? Please write me back.

ya tiptronic is a button shifter on the steering wheel, mainly used for race cars to remove the gear shift, its not for an auto though, i dont think

i beleive the sport shift is actually a center stick type thing not a button on the steering wheel... you can put it in auto...or move the stick over and push it up and down when you want to change gears...drove an eclipse like that too..it was actually kinda fun. but then again kinda boring no feet work involved. dont even have to take your foot off the gas.

ive actaully seen one the guidence councler at my school has it on her celica...there 2 buttons on each side the the steerin wheel that u can press to shift the gears..kidna tight because the harder you are down on the pedal the faster it will shift... kinda hard to do if ur turning though

after lookin around the internet, icce was right, the sport shift is where you can push the gear shift over and push it up and down to shift up and down the gears.

oh i mis read that hes getting the paddle shift yeah all it is is like a shift knob? that goes forward and backwards...its a triptonic system that u change gears manually and when u fuck up it automaticcaly does them...im wording that wrong but im tired as fuck...basically itsa padle shift you shift sorta like an auto but no clutch ...think of it as an old school (like camero or chevell) auto shift kit
