91 GT. 12.40 @111MPH. This car isn't set up for that top end speed stuff. 4.11's, Tremec, aluminum Edelbrock RPM heads, Comp cam, Gt40 intake......Just sold the car so I can concetrate on a 69 Mach1 drag car project that's been going on for a million years.

I have a 03 Cobra convertible and fastest I have had it was about 100-110, I did that from 60 in 4th on a punch, felt pretty good. but I could have started in 3rd and it would have gotten there much faster.
I have had 8 mustangs in the last 12 years.
95 cobra stock ran 14.6@94mph in the 4th mile. Had a top speed of about 135. After a few mods, longtube headers, highflow cats, catback, timing up to 16, k+n, and pullies, and 3.73 gears, it ran 13.9@101mph, and pulled to 150 very fast, with lots of pull left in it when I got off it.
94 Gt was the most fun car I ever had, I did all the mods but the gears myself, was same mods as cobra for most part, and ran 14.1@99mph.
88 lx 5.0, same mods as cobra, ran 13.7@101 mph
97 cobra, stock ran 14.3@99mph(very bad spin, 2.3 60 foot)
93 lx 5.0, ran 11.6@116 on slicks, crap load of money in that car!
just a few of how fasts for you.

just curious here but I've been 160mph in my stock 93 camaro and i think I read somewhere that the cobras have a top speed even faster than that. is this true? what is the top speed for mustangs officially anyway?

The 03, and 04 cobras have a limiter in them at 153 I think, but I have heard that with out the limiter they would be on the low side of 170. Not sure I would want to go that fast as the front end might start to come up a bit.

Lots of time a way too much money invested, see sig.
Car still feels slow as hell, even though I can make my passengers crap their pants.

Friend of mine has got a 2001 Bullet Mustang, its just stock right now, but it does ok I guess. I drove it today, punched it in 2nd gear and wound it up and shifted to 3rd and it spun the tires and wiggled a little bit.

My car feels slow, but everyone tells me its real quick for a basically stock 5.0 vert. I can impress my passengers.... Fastest I've gone in it was 120. And that was a on 4/18 at the meet with HiFlow5 0, GTStang, etc.

Ah yes, that was a fun meet! Not sure of my actually speed, but if you hit 120 I must have been faster because I was WAY a head of you Chris. LOL
I think Bobby and I are going to plan a little get together this weekend too, have to see what happens.

Dont know if you meant that for me, but if ya did, thanks. I'm a Chevy guy (obvisouly) but my friend just wanted me to drive his car. I'd never driven a V-8 sports car before, so I couldnt pass it up! It's nice though. Got leather seats (I guess all Bullets had that though, lol) and got pretty good power.
As for trucks being gov. at 100, the newer ones are, but the older ones ain't. Mine woudl go untill it blowed up (of course it woudl never do 150 mph!!, MAYBE 120, but that woudl be pushing it I'm sure)

For drag racing at a track (bracket racing) they are really better because they are WAY more consistant then a manual, and much easier to launch!
You sure won't find a true race car with a standard, that is for sure!

Actually I just put my paper work in, to try to stay another 3 years here. I found that the other location I wanted to go to had just been filled.
I have had to put a hold on my T76 project, and another 3 year stint I could go around this Island and have some fun with it:)
When I get done with that car, it should go well over 65mph :iceslolan

Remember that is the stock times, I don’t remember the short times, but I am guessing about 2.1 in the 60'. That was bone stock, still had the air silencer in it. Just a note, but that was 8 years ago, so it could have been as fast as a 14.4, but I am pretty sure it was a 14.6, this was at gateway international, which is about 800 above sea level. Don’t remember weather, but I don’t think it was more than maybe 90 out.
I have the first month copy of 5.0 mustang June 94 still, and it has an article about the 94 cobra, they road tested it, and bone stock it ran [email protected] for them. The 94 gt they tested went [email protected]. These were both 5 speed cars. Now in the same magazine they have another article about Berry Shepard and his 94 gt test car, and first run for him was [email protected](67f, 50%hum) bone stock, but with a little testing, and tuning at the track(timing, and a short belt)they got it down to [email protected]. Remember my stock is the way it came off the showroom floor.
Full list of mods for that car when it ran [email protected] was
Mac long tube headers
mac high flow short cat pipe
dynomax cat-back
16 degrees of timing
march underdrive pullies
K+N drop in filter
3.73 gears
BFG street tires 275/40/17 on the rear
I cut a 1.9 60 foot time with those tires all day long, never got to a 1.8, but I think as low as 1.92, and on top it was running 101+mph with 1 or 2 pass's in the 13's.

Also 13.5 @ 96? Its an automatic right? What mods does he have? Thats a pretty low trap for the times but its all good if its an auto cause they usually trap 2 mph lower than the 5spds. I trapped 96mph stock with my auto.
Mods:
Fox body springs
Mac Prochamber
Sway bar removed
Air silencer removed
Jack/Spare removed
Ill be heading back to the track some time later this month to get my 13 sec pass, hopefully.:)
*edit: Come to think of it... that trap is pretty slow!*
