timing belt maintenance question

Hi All,

I have a 91 corolla wagon. The timing belt was changed by the dealer at 60K (religious service of vehicle by my dad, the previous owner).

I know the timing belt is critical on these cars. The next change would be around 120K, right?

Any symptoms to watch out for that would indicate checking or changing the timing belt again sooner than 120K?

I have a 1990 corolla wagon and replaced the original belt at around 180,000 miles. The garage put a replacement belt (not original Toyota parts) in and at around 60.000 miles later the belt broke on me. Fortunately no head/valve crunching. So my reccomendation is put a new Toyota belt in and go another 100k before replacing. I,m assuming you don't know what make the new belt is. lol

belt should be checked according to service schedule and reported on,if in doubt, get it changed ,(and save money!!)
