Break Lights on when Head lights are on

I own a Carolla 97 DX with 114K miles.

The Break Light comes on when i turn the Headlights on, even thou i dont hit the Breaks
But if the Headlights are off, the Break lights work as they are supposed to....

Can somebody guide me with what the issue may be.

I took the car to a local PepBoys and they think that it cud be a electrical problem and they advised me to go to the dealer...

Help!!!!

I had a similar problem with a 93 Corolla in which the dash lights went on as if the lights were on when I hit the brakes. Turned out to be several burnt out brake lights and turn indicators.
