So does anyone have subs in their 2k2/3 hooked up to the Bose 6 disc? How did you go about it? I'm thinking I want to get one 12" to save space for the golf clubs, probably an Extant or a RF HE2, that's what I had in my old G20. What do you guys think?

i have 2 cerwin vega 12's and a rockford fosgate punch 900 in my car. you need a line output convertor to de-amplify the signal coming out of the deck, so it can be routed through the amplifier on the subs. the hardest part is finding out what wires are which cuz unlike honda the wiring harness isn't labeled.

So where did you run the speaker wire then? Does it look clean?

i yanked up the plastic by the kick plate. you can't even see it. the wires come out of the back of the Head unit then go behind the plastic cover for the ECU
then under the carpet behind the pedals: sorry for quality, low light

then i ran it through the opening in the front of the kick plate:

then through to the back:

i did the same in the back then came up and next to the seat cushioning into the trunk and to the amp and box.

Where did you tap the inputs then? It looks to me like they come out on the passenger side, then run down that side of the car to the back.

what do you mean by inputs? the signal for the speakers?

Yeah, exactly, the input signal for the speakers. I saw the mass of wires underneath that plastic cover, but there is a set of wires on the passenger side too that turn off the signal to the amplifier when I unplugged them.
BTW, how did you know which wires to tap, becuase there seems to be a whole lot of wires with the same colors?

where do you plan to tap the subs in? you could go off the door speakers, the existing rear subwoofer, or right at the back of the head unit. i cut into the wiring harness that comes directly out of the head unit. i did try to wire it directly to the existing 6" stock sub, but didn't know which wires to splice into so i decided to go out of the head. i spliced the line output convertor into the left channel signal wires so that both subs were recieveing signal from the left speakers, next time i get inspired to work i'm gonna splice the right sub into the right channel and left into left.
i could tell which set of wires to cut into because the line output convertor, which allows non-bose systems to interface with bose, had a diagram specific to each car manufacturer. i've been looking for it so i can tell you which wires to look for, but i can't seem to find it yet. i'll keep looking but maybe you should check on the org in the meantime. if all else fails i'll pull the head unit out, cuz i have to bring it to nissan to have sent out to bose for repair. :grinno: don't you fuckin' love this company? i'm never getting a bose equipped vehicle again.

I had to have me HU sent out to Bose as well for repair, took me 4 trips to the dealer until the dicks finally sent it out.
Anyways, my line output converter didn't come with any diagrams. I did mamage to find one on the .org, but there are multiple wires of each color in varying wire gauge, so I am basically back at sqaure one. I don't know why the hell Nissan doesn't just label their damn wiring harnesses. If you ever manage to pull out your HU and have a look, just drop a line here about which wires are the right ones, cause chances are I won't have it done yet.

Alright Thrasher sorry it was longer than I expected but I got it apart today.
This is working out of the harness that is plugged into the upper left receptacle going into the head unit. It is the largest of the 3 going into the deck. Now, the remote wire that’ll turn your amp on and off with the car’s accessories is a purple wire with silver specks on it. It’s all the way to the left and on the bottom tier. The left front positive speaker signal(+) is white with silver marks and is on the exact opposite side as the remote wire, in the same tier. the left front negative signal(-)is Black with silver marks and is directly above the positive wire. What I did was just splice both subs into the left front speaker. It’s the same signal that the right is getting so I said fuck it and took the easy route. However according to the booklet that came with my line output convertor the wires next to those, on the left, which should be 1)red with silver marks and 2)green with silver marks are the right speakers; red is negative signal and green is positive. That should be all the info you need. I just want you to know that the book I got has the wire colors wrong, because it was meant for a 4th gen wiring harness but the pin configuration is the same so I named the wires that are in our harness. So they should be the colors I mentioned above. Good luck man. Hope all goes well. Anymore Q’s feel free to post or pm me.
