91 Caravan Won'r Start

Hi,
Replace fuel pump and put on new gas tank week ago. Was out for a drive, started van and noticed turn signals, radio, horn etc did not work. Turned off van, restarted and all was well again. Drove home, parked van for couple hours. Went to go to store started up van, heard fuel pump kick in, van fired for a sec then died. Went to start again, now no noise can be heard from the fuel pump and it will not start.
Is there a fuse or relay for the fuel pump under the hood? I am thinking there is something funny with the wiring since it had its little episode earlier in the day. I am stumped and hope the pump is not bad as I already changed it twice as one used one I got the sending unit was bad.
When I turn the key on, the fuel guage works but I just don't hear the little humm when the pump first comes on. Any suggestions?? Thanks

I have a similar starting problem of NO Fuel Pump noise when I turn the key on with my 94 Caravan. My dash also shows a "Check Gages" light. It appears the temp, battery and fuel gages work ok however I do notice the oil gage to be dead.
There is a fuel pump relay located under the hood in a fuse/relay box compartment nearby the battery. I haven't tried to replace this yet as the local auto parts guy said to check the fuses first. I did not notice a specific fuel pump fuse however I just finished checking every one of them(under hood and under dash) and they all look good.

oh one more thing, the computer gives me code 14 twice and then stops, no end of test code etc. This was happening before but even after I unplugged the battery the code still shows..not sure if that has anything to do with my current problem though...some help would be greatly appreciated..thanks in advance

Ok so van would not start last night, would not start this morning, wiggled wires under hood several time no luck, took a smoke break :) tried key and heard fuel pump kick in and there she went..so we went for a quick drive for about 10mins, came back, turned key off and tried to start and it started, turned it off and on again it started so my wife and I jumped in the old girl and went for a 30min drive, came home, shut van off, tried to start it again right after and once again no fuel pump whirr at the start and will not start again..I am stumped, is it my Map, my AS relay, wires, fuess???? please any suggestions, I even joined alldata, good pictures but still no luck. Maybe TPS? boohoo my caravan has gremlins..yikes

Wow, I can't believe this. I had the same thing happen tonight with my 94 Caravan as well. After fussing with it all day yesterday (during the rain) I came home from work around 4 today, turned the key, heard the fuel pump noise and she started right up. Went for a 10 min ride with no problems. I will try to start it again in the morning.
I found this link to an interesting article showing that the fuel pump will not get any power unless the oil sending switch is working properly.

I haven't had a chance to change anything just yet but I do have a gas filter and oil sending switch standing by.
Also, someone else suggested to spray "ether" into the air filter box. If the car starts and then runs then the problem is a sensor somewhere. If it doesn't stay running then the problem is related to the fuel pressure, filter, of pump areas. (or maybe that oil sending switch??)
Let's stick together and lick this problem.

well still no luck, i have even joined alldata and still no answers, there is only 3 realys beside my battery and none of them are a fuel pump relay and one does click when I turn the key, its the ASD relay which apparently send power to injectors and fuel pump. i have spent all day cleaning connections etc etc etc and I have had it...stick of dynamite anyone?? :banghead:

Same problem with 89 GC. Replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, wire harness for fuel pump, auto shutdown relay, oxygen sensor, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, and battery. Oh, and the onboard computer. Every repair concludes with the van starting fine 3 or 5 times, then nothing. No codes, ever. Cranks and sparks but no whir from pump, and no start. Wait a couple days and maybe it will start again. Reaching critically low levels of residual patience. Did you ever solve your problem?
