If I replied how I want to, we'd have to move this to Philosophizing! :p

Stress can be a motivator, but often we create too much for ourselves...

Its a survival mechanism, and is related to the fight or flight reflexs we have retained from more primitave times.

Plus it helps make life a little more interesting. :)

As the old saying goes......

Stress is an unnatural friction caused when the civilised part of the brain attempts to override the primitive urge to beat the living crap out of some asshole who desperately deserves it.

No sense in getting stressed....tackle the problem head -on ,or move away from it .Don't let the problem control you,be your own person and let your life move forward.

Our wives inflict it upon us so we die first. That way they collect our life insurance policies!! :p

:devil: muhahahahaha

j/k

Stess isn't caused by the situation itself but by how we perceive it....so I have heard. I am a worry wart and sometimes Alex just wants to kill me for it. Sometimes I take things too personally or look into things deeper than I should and then get myself all worked up for nothing. <sigh>

Just to waste another post:

I think my window sticker says it all! :D

"Stress- The confusion created when one's mind overrides the body's basic desire to choke the living sh!t out of some @sshole who desperately needs it!" :hehehe:

Holy shit! Some damned good insights listed above. I think I am siding with Moppie’s reponse, however, as being the closest to the definitive truth related to stress.

Besides, much as stress sucks the big one, it also creates the kind of contrast in life that incites us to create the “work hard, play hard” cycles of our lives that IMO make life great, even considering that at times stress really can become quite cumbersome and too much to take.

I'm 23 and I already had a nervous breakdown from stress. that was before I really learned how to handle it.

Stress is good.

Stress---->drinking------->chillin'-------->fuckin' up--------->fixin' shit----->back on top-------->stress--------->drinking...

You see grasshopper, this is all part of a natural cycle and we musn't be hasty to break it.
