 I'm in the process of totally modifying my 1998 civic LSi HB i'm presently deciding on the bodywork and i next want to install a quality ice system, i want to use a single brand such as sony as a preference but there is not much available except head units, i don't mind splashing out a bit cos it's a progressive project, any advice on anything would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Any1 with a civic HB with a custom built ice install send me a picture so i can get sum ideas:confused:

I say a full Kenwood system, if you don't mind shelling out the money, Alpine, or Pioneer.

Well if you are set on getting just one brand I would say go with Eclipse or Alpine since they are the two higher end brands when it comes to audio that actually carry everything you will need. But you need to ask yourself... how much money do you want to spend, and what do you consider to be a "full ice system" as you call it? You need to look at your budget ~ and what you want to buy and come up with a solution.

Just gotta add, a modified car is never finished!!!:D

i've decided with alpine cos they're pretty decent make, seen a pukka M3 with custom install, made by alpine usa and took over 1000 hours to build, so far i got a mini disc head unit, 6x9's for custom rear three quarter builds, stealth shelf, 2x12" 1000w subs, 2xV12 amps and a shit load of neons on the short list. btw what size speakers are in the front doors???

I also really like the idea of having a system with all of the same brand name stuff from the HU, Amps, Subs, and Comps...but....why are you limiting yourself to all of one brand's products? Purely for aesthetic reasons?
Although I'm no expert on this stuff, I feel that depending on what you're willing to spend and what you want to accomplish with the system (looks, dB competitions, sound quality, etc.) it will be difficult to find one brand that will be the best use of your money for the whole HU, Amps, Subs, and Comps package.
Just as another reference...my system (which I bought with some equipment choice help from Sparq) has:
Nakamichi 45z HU
Three Ample Audio A 226x two-channel amps
Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5 inch comps (getting 130 watts to each channel from an amp)
Two Infinity Kappa Perfect 10 inch subs (each getting 350 watts from their own amp)
The goal was definitely a sound quality system that pounded hard enough for me.
Pics of the whole custom install are located here (http://www.ithaca.edu/students/arighto1/civic.html).
Good luck.

exactly, it's too hard to have all the same brand, cause some brands don't have good subs but may have nice head units. That's why when I built my system, I have jl subs, eclipse HU, and eclipse mids, kicker tweets, and mtx amps. And I took a look at your system, that is nice, I like it a lot. :)

i like the eclipse models personally. i just bought the eclipse 7002 h/u, the 6 disc in dash changer, navigation, and voice command. i am getting everything installed on monday. it was a toss up of alpine and eclipse. (but the naviigation alone for alpine is $1300)
hope that helps
