Thinking about 1983 Porsche 944

I was thinking taking on a project car, something classic but visually appealing. My interestest fell on a 1970's Mustang Boss 302, a 1970's Lada 2101 (Russian car, but can be found in Canada), or an E30 BMW. But I also remembered that my old man has a 1983 944 (Wide Fenders, non Turbo) parked in his driveway that he had for the last 7 or so years, with about 80K miles on it. The car has not been driven during that time for two reasons:
1. It has an electrical problem (nothing that a local shop couldnt fix, I hope).
2. My grandpa doesn't drive manual tranny. :)
The body had some frontal damage to it, but it is restored and painted. It is Dark Blue Metalic (Original color was Dark Blue). It has original Porsche Rims -- the black 5-spoke beveled with polished lip. Black leather enterior, with pointy looking gauges.
My concerns:
1. Are there any headlight upgrades, something more modern. I want something that doesnt have to pop out, something behind the glass, like Nissan 300Z or something. I've seen the Strosek upgrade, not too fund of that look.
2. Will the bumper from the updated version fit the 83 944?
3. Are there any manufactureres for body kits that are in USA or will ship to USA? Weblinks would be great. Or just pictures of available kits.
4. Any options on the rear spoliler, I'm not liking the rubber looking thing in the back.
5. I'm not thinking of forced induction, but just to know, will the turbo from the turbo vesion an easy/possible upgrade?
6. I read about the belts (a weak point in this model), what other mechanical conserns I should look for.
I'm gonna head over to look at it again this week, will post pictures if you guys want. I appreciate any reply.

Hope this helps.
1) Check out rennlist.com. DO A SEARCH! Many people there have done headlight upgrades of all kinds and posted them.
2) The bumpers won't directly bolt on, the fenders and front valence don't line up but there are many aftermarket kits available to give you the same end result.
3)Once again, do a rennlist search for peoples upgraded bodies, most of them contain links to get you to the sources.
4)see answer 3
5) cheapest real way is to find a wrecked/donor 951
(there are many differences)
6) The ring and pinion seem to also be a weak point. (these cars werent designed for drag racing)
