well, this weekend i decided to fuinally put my ideas into action on hy civic, 94 EX cpe. well, forced induction is a beautiful thing, and its working very well for me, all i need is a K&N drop in replacement filter.... anyway, ive also converted to one wiper, i kinda like that mod too, so now i would really like any new sites on some DIY mods, and im really interested in my throttle body, if anyone knows about these and knows some homemade mods for them i would also love that news, specifically i know a guy who owns a fullsize GM pickup, and ive read up on the removal of the air dam inside the throttle body for absolutely incredible results, anything like this owuld be great...thanks

isnt swapping to a bigger throttle body also a good DIY way of getting more HP..?? how about throttle body spacers??.. anyone come across that one??

bigger throttle body wont do much hp but it is mostly design to give u aliot better pick up off the line. havent really heard of a spacer but i wouldnt imagin that it do much since putting a space be like putting a longer intake.

i was just reading this one websites throttle spacer thing and they said it just makes the air swirl before going into the engine to give it better performance or something like that??.. anyone got any ideas on this?

its like that gay tornado thing it doesnt work. only thing i would say it would work on is itbs bc the air is moving straight into the single pipe as for the air in a regular set up would stop swirling since it has to turn into teh intake to go into the engine. in other words the only way to maintain teh swirl of air would be a straight path

so does the rmoval of the air dam do anything like he originally asked??

No, because Honda intake piping and intake manifolds don't use any kind of restricted air dam like most American cars do. That's why when you put a ram air intake on a Civic see very little if any power improvements, but if you put a ram air intake on say a Camaro or Mustang you get some significant power boosts because the restriction on the amount of air coming into the engine is removed. This also improves throttle response.
But on your EX, a ram air intake is not going to make any significant power (it will however just make a lot more noise), and on an unmodified Dseries engine, you wouldn't see any significant gains from a larger throttle body either.
