I own a 1995 mits. eclipse and am installing an aftermarket sony radio. I have all the speaker wires connected and have 4 factory wires remaining. A green/silver wire, black/yellow, red, and a "fat" blue wire. Does anyone have any suggestions on how this is supposed to be wired or know of any website i can go to for a wiring diagram. Thanx a bunch.

Do you have a wiring harness?

i believe the blue one is for the antenna... could be wrong.. but usually with the wiring harness it tells you which wire is what

Black = ground
Yellow = 12v constant power
Red = 12v switched power (ACC.)
Blue = Antenna
Green/Silver = Should be the speakers

your wires must be seriously messed up then, cause all of the eclipses that i put stereos in, including all the other cars i have done too, those wires have been the way i stated them! shit... damn... that is wack!

maybe the wiring is messed up, but i went to the dealership and had a mechanic check it out and everything is original. the eclipse i just bought even had the original stereo in it with no evidence of ever being taken out.....wierd.

do whoever u sell your dsm to a favor and just spend the 3 fickin bucks for a sterao plug instead of hacking the harness. it makes it way easier to change stereos too

I'm pretty sure that the blue wire is for the remote that would connect to the amplifiers if you have them.
Ground should be all black.
Red goes to the power source.
Any striped wires connect to speaker the wires of the same design. These are for speakers.

This is kinda on the subject so i didnt want to start a new thread. I took off my stock stereo system from the Gs-t and im trying to put it in my GS. I got in in and connected, but when i turned it on it asks for a code. Do you guys know what the code is? Is it universal or car specific? One of my friends said that i had to call the dealership to get it and they will charge me around $40-50 :banghead: . I was wondering if anyone knows about this.

Thanks

It is radio specific. All you have to do is call the dealer (they don't charge for this) and give them the S/N off the side of the radio and they will give you the code.
