Ok, so i just got off of the phone with my insurance agent. She tells me that the best bet for me to insure a car is a 94-97 with as many saftey features as possible. The hard/easy part is finding a car that i wouldnt need to have collision on. I need help deciding what car i should get now.
What i wanted was a sporty car that i could buy and possibly mod with 5000 US dollars. So now i have that money to buy a 94-97 car with saftey features that doesnt need collsion.
Sould i just buy a car with saftey features and than just not put collsion on rather than buying a car so ugly/beat that it doesnt need collision.
When i think saftery i think Volvo, or Saab but with those cars i think i would want collision coverage. I guess i could always get a civic and just not put collision on cause their are parts everywhere for those things.

you know those older turbo volvos (the bricks) can be made to be pretty quick (12's-13's) and really awesome sleepers...

Yeah, alot of the Volvos are equiped with trubo engines. My friend crashed his parents... S70 i believe it was as 4 door family sedan but it was quick! Anyway he drove it to school one day and it was october, he came racing around a bend behind the school hit wet leaves and crashed into three cars. Well he hit one car and it rolled back and hit into another car, which in turn hit the third car. All of the Juniors who couldnt park in the school parking lot parked back here so the cars are lined up 1 on top of the other. The kid just drove away and hid in a parking lot for three periods, but 15 kids saw him do it and walked into the school and told everyone. That was off topic though, and on my own post lol.
Yeah anyway volvos are kind of quick, thats why i listed them. But i am trying to get other ideas. Can you guys come up with any? Please help, im tired off all the court bull shit and just want to get a new car.

maybe you could get an old Silvia, RX7 or Supra.
but - this volvo-thing caught my interest. Those older models are so damn ugly, but 12-13s??
where would you get parts for such old cars? Ok, GReddy boost controller, some exhaust + intake -- maybe +50-100 hp?
any links for modding old volvos?

I think a volvo would be a bad choice. My uncle has got the Volvo V70 T5, is fast tough, but 250 bhp on the front wheels is just too much and it goes like an '90s lumina trough corners. Altough it's fast, you don't get the sensation like in a BMW. It's just too...civilized. The dealer said all of the fst volvo's drive like this

Well seeing as you brought this post back up. I called my insurance agent again and she told me that as long as i got a car that was 96+ and had ABS, Passive Restraints, Low miles, Less likely to be stolen i shoud be ok with insurance. I am most likely going to be putting the car under my moms insurance policy and paying her the extra money.
This opens up a lot of different car models and styles to me. I recently found a 97 miata around the block from me with 56k for 8000, and i also found a 00 Dakota Sport 5spd for 6000 with 80K. Im gonna drive around my neighbor hood for a little while and look for those nice orange and black signs.
