car weight

it is my understanding that a relatively cheap and easy way to greatly improve handling, acceleration, and overall driveability is to decrease the weight of one's vehicle; however, my problem is i dont know of any ways to do this beyond replacing certain components with carbon fiber and so forth. Can anyone give me guidance on how to drop the weight of my 6th gen. civic and maintain a street car feel? thank you.

lightweight rims+good suspension setup can make your car feel like a thousand pounds has just been lifted from it.

thats good start but free things include ripping shit out spare tire rear pass seat junk your A/C. Start looking into light weight replacement parts cause gutting street car isn't too fun least for me.
taking weight off suspension is key so lightweight
rims and all is best bang for buck.

yea, start with the free weight savings first, remove all interior goods if you want, and all that sound deadining material.

for example, usually 100lbs of weight removed will result in about .1 sec shaved off your time.

def. get light weight rims first, and lose the A/C, you'll notice big gains immediatly.

as far as rims go, I can only invest so much in them at this point because I plan to build some kind of a wallet-draining frank this summer in addition to upgrading my suspension. So, with these restrictions in mind, what kind of setup would be most cost-effective in terms of rims and wheels. Also, I've heard a considerable amount about sound-deadening tar underneath the car and the weight it possesses; how exactly should i go about removing this? and what noise level will be reached in my car? once again, thank you for the information.
