What else could be causing vibration under the hood other than the rear mount?

OK, LOL done.
First, I might suggest you give your post a more meaningful title - had you done so you probably would've gotten some responses.
I believe the answer to your question is "maybe, but probably not"
Exactly when does it vibrate? The check for a (notorious) bad motor mount (which, by the way, is called the "LEFT" mount - there is no "rear" mount - that's the transmission mount. The motor mounts are left and front, with a stablizer dog bone on the right of the motor) is to put it in D while idling and switch on the A/C. If your teeth start to chatter, you've got a bad left motor mount.

is it a vibration of the car, or a sound under the hood?

if it's the whole car shake, check for loose exhaust pipe shaking.
if the engine shake, check motor mounts.
if it's rough idle, do a tuneup and fuel injector cleaner.
and if it's mice, call an exterminator...

I know I don't need an exterminator., at least I hope never know in NY. My 92 accord vibrates only in front. I tried the turning on the AC and yes my teeth chattered. The problem is the mechanic said the "left" mount is good. I bought the mount after someone told me that it was most likely my problem, now I'm stuck with it in my trunk. I suppose I could just tell him to put it in and work from there.

I wonder why the mechanic said it was good? You can't even see it, never mind judging whether it needs replacement by looking at it.

For my info, how was he suppose to check it? I wasn't there when he checked it, but I want to be there when he does it again.

I described that in my earlier response above.

Ok I Do Understand About The Ac But Physically When I Make Him Inspect It Can You See A Problem?

Well, I haven't looked too closely (on the car) myself, but as far as I can tell it's all but invisible (buried between the motor and the firewall). And having seen a (new) mount, I can't think it would be particularly obvious if it was bad.

I argee, it looks like a big piece of rubber between metal...i guess a motor mount is rubber! But...????

Actually the left motor mount is pretty complicated (especially if you have auto trans - then it has a vacuum connection). The front one is easy to see and IS a chunk of ruber between metal, but it's the left one that is usually to blame for vibration.

Thanks guys, I still have the left mount and I'll just have him put the thing in. I need a tune-up anyway. By the way, does anyone know where to get the rubber that's between the door and the window? Besides honda... :nono:
