I have a 91 Celica GT convertible with 8" subwoofers in the doors which are shot so i am replacing them. I would like opinions on which subwoofers would sound good in this location. I have an aftermarket system but currently don't have an amp, but may get a small one in the future. I am not looking for anything to shatter windows but want a good quality sound. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey could you let me know on that. I just got my celica a few weeks ago and slowly but surely replacing all the speakers. It would be a big help if you could tell me how to get the whole door panel off. Plus if you have the premium sound package in your car you should have a small 220W amp under your passenger seat. At least my 91 GT Convertible did.

About buying an amp. If you have the premium sound package, just to let you know, you should have a Toyota made 220watt amp under your passenger seat

if you already have the subs in your trunk you can have a sound system shop take out the 8" subs and throw in some 6 1/2 in the same spot...stop the absense of sound in the front. the 4" under the dash dont seem to put enough sound out to make the system sound good (with subs in the back) so thats what i did...replaced the 8's with 6 1/2, i have 2 12" Alpine R's in my trunk the 6 1/2 give just enough sound to make the system to work perfect togather.
