Im thinking of buying a new turbo-back exhaust system for my GS-T. Does anyone know where i can get a BIG opening? Nothing 3-4 inch stuff. Somewhere around 5 1/2 and 6 was what i was looking for. THanks

Why would you want piping THAT big? Correct me if I'm wrong (very common), but exhaust that big would pretty much eliminate backpressure, and a little bit of backpressure is good, right?

Turbos make their own backpressure, but this is still a little over the line.

if you want one that big you can just unbolt the whole exhaust... and that is free!

My thoughts exactly. Or, get a cut-out.
For god's sake, Shepherd only runs a 3.5in.

I just think he wants a ricer tip, not the whole exhaust to be that big. Well then I think the apexi n1 is pretty big.
BTW, backpressure is bad

I just ordered a apexi n1 muffler, and i wanted a custom cat back. How big should i get the cat back, and which is louder a 2.5 in or a 3? Because i dont want it that loud. Does anyone know how much a custom built cat back would cost?

well the N1 isn't the tip to buy if you want the 'not so loud' exhaust. virtualy anything performance is going to be loud. and find out what the inlet side of the tip is. that will tell you what you have to weld it up to on the other side.

bigger diameter is always louder.
most mufflers only exit to 3-4 inch. Good luck finding 6 inch... prepare to be called a ricer every time someone sees it.

The thermal catbacks have a 5" tip. The biggest I'm aware of, if thats your thing :)

I thought that the best exhaust for a turbo was no exhaust at all?

"Opening" implies to me he is talking about the tip. I thought we covered this already. :)

On a turbo car even if you go big like 3 inch it wont be that loud. The turbo itself acts as a bit of a muffler. I have never heard a bad soundign turbo car, nor one that sounds ricey. Just get a decent tip and put it on what ever exhaust you decide to pick. 4 inch seems plenty big to me.

i saw a dual 4" muffler on ebay for 20 bucks... i'm sure you can jump all over that as long as you can beat the RICERS off of it...
