You know, looking at that vid... It looks like it never hit his chest at all. Probably hit his wrist though, and what bounced off looked like just a piece of the front of his bike?

I work at BIR which is a NHRA circuit track in MN. Anyway I say that video but from another camera. It broke his wrist and that was all. They have to wear a metal chest protector on pro-stock bikes.

That probably was'nt the piston hitting his chest. It MIGHT have been the gas tank exploding. I think these bikes run on methonal and that crap is more likley to just blow up outta nowhere than normal gasoline. I highly doubt it was a piston.

That was not the gas tank exploding. If the tank had exploded, it most certainly would have thrown him backwards quite a distance, especially if he's runnin methanol. I raced methanol burning go-karts for 3 years, one tank exlpoded and put the guy in ICU for 2 weeks, it detached his seat from the kart and put him (w/seat) in the wall, not to mention badly burning others the were close by. That piece didn't look shaped right to be a piston though, maybe a piece of the head?

This was posted on the "car video" Forum too.. And i think it only hit his wrist not his chest..

Also, I think a piston in a bike moves faster than a bullet, so if it did hit him in the chest, it would probably kill him instantly.
